Knight was convinced the best way to do this was to import the Onitsuka brand from japan, so Knight sealed an appointment with Onitsuka and was soon importing the shoes to the US. 1971 saw Blue Ribbon Sports launch their accept range of footwear named ‘Nike’ after the greek goddess of victory. nike ropes is now one of the biggest shoe brands in the world and the Swoosh is one of the adidas recognised symbols - a testament to their quality and style.
